# 603 Reclaimed material 101

One of the most common question asked by visitors to the store on discovery that we make new things from old things is "do I have to bring in my own materials"? Well the short answer to that is NO. The long answer is we can incorporate some of your old material into a new piece. A recent example was a customer that had asked us  to incorporate their old door in a cabinet that we are making for them.  We did and they were happy, nuff said.

As rule of thumb, we make things from reclaimed doors, reclaimed windows and reclaimed lumber and we have a two garages full of said materials.
Thanks,

#602 Antique Tin Ceiling tiles

Wow. just got a bunch of Antique Tin Ceiling tiles from one of my contacts. They were pulling them out of a commercial building and called me up. We got about 30 sheets of 4feet x 2feet tiles, most in really good shape. We will be using them for backs of shelf and cabinets as well as cabinet doors.

#601 Building shelf units

I don't know what it is but everyone wants a shelf unit. Maybe its a beginning of the year thing or something, in any case people are asking for it and we are building them. A few days ago while on delivery I came across one of the most unique shelf ideas. Our customer - Tammy, was doing relief work in New Orleans a few years back during Katrina and noticed the ingenious uses of reclaimed materials. Building were torn to bits and pieces were literally lying around. Locals would gather the pieces and use them as building material for everything from walls to cabinets to tables. Now at home, Tammy picked up on that and took a door, added a shelf and created what you see. I call it the Tammy DoorShelf  and we build it right here at Forever Interiors..
Thank you Tammy

#600 Forever Interiors "word"

Hi Everyone, I decided to create a Forever Interior blog in my Forever Interior blog since I feel everyone needs to know what i am doing every moment of the day everyday... Actually that's not true, I'm kidding. The reality is I've received ton of emails and have been asked many questions about the stuff we do and how we do it.
Let the games begin... I'll post pictures of custom projects for customers and stock. I'll provide insight in the workings of Forever Interiors and let you all know why we do what we do!
